There’s truly something for the whole family in North Carolina’s biggest city.

The Outer Banks

Three hours

Home to many a romance novel and rom-com, the Outer Banks has been made famous by the stories of North Carolina’s Nicholas Sparks. Given the natural beauty of the area, it’s not hard to see why he set so many stories there! Also famous for Orville and Wilbur Wright’s first flight, the sand dunes and beaches of the Outer Banks make this one of the most historical sites the country. Just three hours from Youngsville, OBX – as it is known to the locals – makes for a dreamy trip to the beach.

Asheville

Four hours

Nicknamed the Paris of the South, Asheville is the crown jewel of the Blue Ridge Parkway. With its stunning vistas, delicious cuisine and plethora of breweries, the city has become a haven for foodies, nature-lovers and historians alike. A short drive from the Triangle will have you in Asheville by lunchtime, making it the perfect weekend getaway. Explore Vanderbilt’s famous estate, Biltmore and take in live music at the Orange Peel before noshing on gourmet Southern delicacies. There’s truly something for everyone in this mountain town!
